Joey is a hair magician

I see Joey at Salon 54 (now located at Falls River). He has taken my lifelong unruly, uncontrollable, frightening masses of hair and made it straight, smooth, soft, and manageable. After years of hair "professionals" being dismayed at the amount of hair on my head and it's incredible thickness and curliness, I decided to have a consultation with Joey as a last ditch attempt for some control. It was the best thing I've ever done. He was knowledgeable and confident (and not the fake kind). I felt good about doing the Japanese straightening. You should see the before and after pictures! They are amazing. Go to the website, look it over, ask to see my pictures (I'm Laura). My 5 year old daughter now sees him (she has the same exact hair issues I had). My cousin sees him as well. If he ever retires, I will have to shave my head and wear a wig (I've done it before). If you are looking for someone who can do all types of hair from your very thin to your very "ethnic" Joey is the man. |

Consistent Hair Color and Cut Every Time!!!

I have been going to Salon 54 for four years. The owner, Joey has been very easy to get along with, and most importantly, listens to my comments and concerns and turns out a great heighlight and cut every time. My friends agree, as they remark on my hair after an appoinment, and have turned into Salon 54 customers themselves. The price is reasonable, what you would expect for excellent service, but nothing where you would think twice of paying. I like the atmosphere of the salon, upbeat and easygoing, it is a pleasure! |

Thermal reconditioning worked wonders!

Before coming into Salon 54 I was skeptical my hair could even be straightened. I have very tight curls that have never taken to anything I've tried to do with them. Joey reassured me he could get at least 80-90% of the curl out. After two applications of thermal reconditioning, he didn't just get 80-90% of the curl out, he got 100% out! It looks amazing and is a complete transformation. For the first time in my life, I can wear my hair down without having an afro. I highly recommend Joey for anyone who think thermal reconditioning may not work for them. It will! Thanks Salon 54! |

I'm happy again!!

After going to Wendy for a while, I decided to try coloring my hair myself in order to save money. What a mistake! My hair was a mess; dry, dry, dry. I called Wendy and confessed what I had done and asked if she would rescue me without scolding me. She said "come on in and I'll fix it." I had a heavy duty conditioner treatment and a trim to get the shape back and I'm happy again. I was going to call Wendy to tell her how happy I was when I ran across this website. This is a great way of communicating. So....Thank you, Wendy. Also, was I supposed to NOT wash my hair for 72 hrs. After the conditioning treatment? You didn't tell me anything about this. I moved to Raleigh right after college so I didn't know much about the area. I searched for a hair salon on the Internet one day and found salon 54. They seemed more reasonably priced than a lot of other salons I had looked at. Of course I was a little nervous getting my hair cut by someone new to me, but Wendy did such a great job. She made me feel comfortable and made sure she knew just what I wanted. Since that first visit to salon 54, I have had my hair cut several times by Wendy. She always does a great job no matter what hair style I'm in the mood for. Now I consider Wendy as my own reliable hair stylist. She is awesome! |

I was unhappy with my stylist of a few years and came across Salon 54 on this website and decided to give it a try. From the beginning, Joey was extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable in the chair- literally, by offering me a drink! He is very honest, friendly and enjoys his work. He will listen to what you want and will offer advice and suggestions (even with pictures if you ask for it). Once I had a friend in from out of town who needed a cut and color very last minute...he squeezed her in and her hair turned out wonderful! The other stylists are very good too, and one even helped me at the last minute to get together my look for halloween! Even if things don't turn out the way you want, Joey will work with you to fix the problem. One time we made my hair too blonde and he sat with me for four hours to fix it, and even took me out to dinner afterwards because he felt bad. The salon is aesthetically pleasing, but not stuffy, and you definitely don't feel like you are being judged by the workers or clients as you do at some other places. I have carried around Salon 54 business cards for years and constantly refer friends. I will be moving soon and will miss Joey dearly! I definitely recommend Salon 54 for a fairly inexpensive, unpretentious salon experience. |

THE place for Thermal Reconditioning

I go to Joey every 5 - 6 months for my thermal reconditioning / touchups. I'm so happy to have such a great hair stylist/resource in the Triangle area. My hair is curly/frizzy but also on the thin side. The thermal reconditioning gives me new style options and the ease of knowing I can wash and then go; my hair needs very minimal styling after the thermal and no frizzies at all. The hardest part of the whole process is waiting 72 hrs after treatment to wash my hair. Joey is a talented stylist and a very nice man. The atmosphere at Salon 54 is relaxed. I highly recommend Salon 54.

In nature, my review for this salon would be that it's simply amazing! The boss and staff interacted pleasantly to me, and we got to talk like I was their real friend rather then just a client. Many other salons that I've been to in my years have treated me diffrently, just asking me what hair style I'd would like and leaving it at that with no interaction what so ever. This salon made me feel like I was at home with family and friends. We all got along great, and the staff had a nice way of making me feel 'special'. I got a manacure, and let me just say, it turned out great! This place has it all! Manacures, pedacures, Hair styleing, waxinng, and they do it all with perfesionalism!Jean, the one who did my hair, ame it look great, and made me feel right at home! I will definatly be back to visit my new friends at salon 54! |

Great for Curly hair

I have strawberry-blond naturally curly hair that I let grow out way too long because I couldn't find anyone to cut it - everyone gave me a "triangle head" instead of a great style. It was also very dry and frizzy. A friend recommended Salon 54 and even though it's an hour and a half away for me, I called right before Christmas and was able to get an appointment the day after Christmas. Jean took the time to ask me what I wanted and make suggestions - I am a mom of eight kids, own a business and have a full time job, and I don't have time to fuss with my curly hair. I needed a cut that I could wash and go with. I came out of there with an excellent cut and style, and a recommendation on a product she used that helped my hair from becoming frizzy (I have tried so many so-called "anti-frizz" products from the store that I became discouraged I'd ever find one that really works!). I am very pleased with the results and I will definately be back to have Jean cut it again. |

I have been going to Salon 54 for about a year now. I'm so glad that I found this salon! The people are really friendly and thanks to Joey, I now have an awesome hair style! I have gotten many, many, many compliements on my hair from friends, family, and co-workers since I've been going to Salon 54. Joey listens to my concerns, gives me some ideas of his own, and the result is always fantastic! |

Recommend for color

I'm glad I finally found a place that can do something for my hair. I had blonde hair that was part pretty-but-damanged and part orange tinted-- the mismatched result of two other salons. I just wanted to go back to the mousy brown that is likely my natural color, but I was doubtful if this could be done 1) without breaking off even more of my hair and 2) with color consistency. Joey and Toni were helpful in consulting with me, and Toni colored me. Well, it's not mousy! It's a very rich, shimmery brown. It doesn't look exactly like I thought I would, but it does look a lot better than I thought it would (if that makes sense). Since I came to them with a rainbow of colors, consistency was a worry-- but it blends well (actually looks like I have some highlights). My husband says it's the best my hair's looked in a long time. And thankfully I haven't sustained further damage, which doesn't sound like much but is SUCH a relief, because I know just how much my hair has been through this last year. |

I came to Salon 54 with haircoloring that, well, had numerous variations in color - My hair would fade and turn an awful reddish-orange shade in places several weeks after coloring. Joey is an expert in hair coloring and haircuts - period. During the first visit he transformed that mess into haircolor that is gorgeous and a cut to die for. I am so thankful to have been referred to him - I could do no better! I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Joey and Salon 54. Joey - Great Job! |

Thermal Reconditioning Review

My hair is very curly, dry, never-ever oily. I am hispanic, mixed races (Mediterranean, African, Caucasian). My curls are not even or smooth. My hairline is really curly. Curls just stick straight out. I tried Lorraine Massey’s “Curly Girl” book techniques but did not work for my curls. My hair got healthier but curls were still all over the place. I still use some of her techniques with my straight hair, which I think has really helped keep my hair in good shape. I also used Ouidad’s products for a while. They didn’t make a difference on my hair. If you are a curly girl who has done her research, you know what I am taking about. I used to perm my hair so at least I had some curl definition. I had to put around two full pumps of leave-in conditioner (the gallon size, ~ 4 Tbs) plus tons of strong hold gel. My hair is so porous that it would just absorb up all these products like it was air! It looked dry and ok, somewhat normal. Even with leave-in and gels, I always ended up with horrible frizzy hair at the end of the day. On humid days, total nightmare. It has been 3 times since I have had Joey do the thermal reconditioning. My life (not exaggerating) has changed. I don’t use any products. I get up in the morning and I don’t think about my hair. The first reconditioning did not take as well due to my hair being so curly. It was a bit wavy so I had to style it still. I went back after 3 months and had it done again with a stronger formula. That’s when it worked great. My hair was “wash-and-wear” for a few weeks… until my roots started to grow out. Once my roots started to grow, I had to use a big round brush (flat brushes do not work for my curly hair) and pull my roots straight and dry it out. I don’t wash my hair as often as people with “good” hair do, so I feel ok about using a warm hair dryer once in a while. My hair does not look damaged at all. It looks healthy and shiny. I will get this done until I die! ;) |

Best Hair Extensions

Joey at Salon 54 literally changed my life. In June of 2005, I accidentally caught my hair on fire blowing out a candle. To say the least, it was a complete disaster, I actually had to walk around with hair that looked just like Billy Ray Cyrus, when I was accustomed to naturally curly, half way down my back hair that people complimented me on often. After my "correction" hair cut at another salon, I felt hopeless. That was until I scheduled an appointment with Joey to discuss possible hair extensions. He was nothing short of fantastic and scheduled me at the last minute to come in. I have had them in since February and my hair is finally starting to get back to it's old self. He and Wendy both are excellent in hair and in making a difference in lives. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with Salon 54 and will continue to go back for as long as I am in the triangle area. |

I went to Joey after reading all the reviews at CitySearch regarding Thermal Reconditioning. I had coarse, big, frizzy hair that had excellent body but took an hour of drying then rollers and as soon as I ventured near moisture it would turn into a Q-tip. The service I recieved from Joey was excellent; he made me feel comfortable and he was extremely fast. I came home with smooth, silky, glossy hair like the hair I had as a child. I like it even more a week later because I've learned to work with the new texture. I barely blow dry now and with a few flips of a curling iron I can get smooth curls like in the pantene comercials. It's really like a miracle. I don't feel like my hair looks over processed and fried anymore. I'm defintiely going back for more services. |

After having the same essential hairstyle for about 25 years, I went to Joey after reading his reviews in Citysearch. He did what no one else ever did, even in Dallas! He said I should change my look and asked me to let him try something. WOW!!! I never even knew I had natural wave. I love my style. He even slightly changed my color and made it lood so much better. The best compliment? All my friends ask where I get my hair done. Love this guy!!!!!

I just recently went back to Salon 54 for my SECOND haircut with Joey. The cut was as fabulous as the FIRST haircut. My first haircut was a new style for me and Joey was very informative about what he wanted to do. It was absolutely wonderful!! He showed me how to style it as he went. And I actually did it, the next day. This second hair cut was as accurate as the first. He actually asked how many weeks it had been since my last cut, so that he would know how much to trim. Joey is a very humorous man!! You will have fun and not be bored with silence, when he cuts your hair!! I also must mention the highlights that I got. They were excellently done as well.

I just went to Studio 54 for the first time tonight and I could not be more pleased. I have been searching for a new hair stylist for several months now and just happened to get Joy. I have to say this is the best hair cut I have ever had. My husband was so excited when I walked in the door. He said I look like a whole new person. Joy is very professional and a perfectionist. I found Joey and Salon 54 while doing searches for the Thermal Reconditioing process. After a few months of research (and talking my husband in to it!) I went in yesterday to have it done. Joey was absolutely fantastic! My hair is now the hair I have always dreamed of having. My hair was wavy/curly/frizzy and after 3.5 hours of Joey's magic, it is absolutely straight, shiny, and frizz-free. I LOVE it (and my husband agrees it was worth every penny)! I would highly recommend Salon 54 to anyone. In addition to Joey, there are several other stylists. It was amazing to me how much time each of them took with their clients. So many times you feel rushed at a salon - not here! They were really taking the time to make sure everyone walked out of there 100% satisfied. Thanks Joey! |

If you are like me and have endured years of unruly, curly, frizzy hair.....Go see Joey for Thermal Reconstructing. Joey does know what hes doing, he works at a great pace, and gets the CORRECT job done. I have thin curly hair and the process Salon54 uses makes my hair straight, shiny and healthy to the touch. With all the heat and humidty me hair dosent "do what it wants" anymore, it is neater and I feel more confident. Joey has been in the hair business for years and it shows, with his up to date haircuts, edcuation about color and mostly his choice and skill for hair straighting. |

Thermal Reconditioning is UNBELIEVABLY INCREDIBLE

I got TR & cut 5/7 from Joey, I felt simply INCREDIBLE! I had something done 1 year ago to straighten my hair. Well it straighted it alright, it looked like wire. Joey is amazing and wonderful and I felt comfortable with him. Before the procedure was done, my natural hair was coarse, had kinky curls and extremely hard to manage, not to mention it took an 2 hours to style. When Joey styled my hair he was done less than 10 minutes to dry and style it and looked magnificent! I now wash, dry and style in less than 30 minutes and my husband loves it. My hair is so silky straight and shining, never thought that it could be so easy. I highly recommend this to anyone with curly, difficult hair the price is 100% worth it! Thanks Joey you are my new friend. I appreciate it. |

I rarely say this about myself, but after getting TR & cut today from Joey, I feel GORGEOUS!!! He's a really nice guy, and I felt comfortable being around him. Before this procedure, my natural hair was coarse and extremely hard to manage, not to mention it takes an hour to style. When Joey styled it today it took less than 10 minutes and looks great! I highly recommend this to anyone with curly hair....the price is 100% worth it! Within 1 minute of leaving his salon...no joke, I got hit on! hehe...so Joey must be doing something right! I went into Salon 54 to get hair extensions put in. I had VERY short hair and Belinda did an AWESOME job with it. They blend so well unless you knew me from before you would have no idea that they are extensions. She was sweet as she could be and very gentle. I drove all the way from High Point to have her do my hair and it was definatly worth the drive. I would highly recommend Belinda to anyone wanting to get the hair fusion service. |

I just moved from California to the Raleigh area a couple of months ago not knowing a soul. I got brave and went to a Cary salon for the Japanese Hair Straightening. I ended up with some areas that were frizzy and some areas of my hair that were straight. It looked dry and damaged. She recommended that I come in and repeat the process. I found Joey's website and gave him a call for his opinion. He said do not let her repeat the process! I decided to see Joey, he fit me in that day. He saved the day! He gave me a very cute trendy hair cut and managed to save the length! The cut works with the straight and waviness to my hair and he managed to get it looking healthy again. Thanks Joey! ;-) |

Salon 54 is absolutely wonderful! I have been going there for almost a year now and have never been so committed to just one stylist/salon. Joey is not only a master at what he does but a very, very funny & friendly person! He makes spending 5 hours at the salon feel like only 30 minutes! I've gotten my hair colored, high-lighted, cut, and thermal reconditioned (twice now) and couldn't be more pleased. With Joey's help, my hair has also become "healthy" again (as opposed to it being extremely fried/dull). Belinda is also a doll and helped Joey out today with my thermal reconditioning touch-up. I can hardly wait for their new location (off Durant Road) to open next month. I highly recommend Salon 54 (Joey & Belinda) to anyone that wants a BIG change or just an excellent stylist! :)

I researched Salon 54 on Citysearch because I was desperate to do something about my fried, over-processed bleached blonde/orange tinged hair. After reading the fantastic reviews I came in from Greenville, NC a few days after making an appointment. I have never been so pleased! The color and the cut that I recieved from Belinda are amazing, Joey is so nice and helpful and I just couldn't get over how great my hair looked! I'd recommend Salon 54 to anyone (my mother is making an appointment too!).

My hair had been the same style since I was 5 (I am now 27). I didn't know how I wanted it to look, or even what would look good on me, but I knew I wanted a change quick. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day. I went in and Belinda helped me decide what to do with my hair. We tried the new cut and I wasn't totally sold. It was a great cut, it just wasn't me. Belinda didn't even hesistate or act annoyed, but said, "Let's try something different. I want you to be happy". She restyled my hair and it was beautiful. I thought I would end up paying a lot for having it redone, but she charged me only once. The price was GREAT! I definately recommend this salon. Belinda was a majician with hair, and so nice.

I found Salon 54 after having a hair color crisis (brought on by another salon). Belinda was able to fit me into her schedule so I would not have to face the work week with bad hair. I felt very comfortable with the staff, Joey and Belinda were very friendly and both really took the time to fix my haircolor. Joey even touched up my haircut, making it a bit more stylish than before. I am looking forward to future visits with them at their new location.

I just recently moved to the area and was in dire need of a new hairstylist. Upon stumbling onto citysearch and reading all these rave reviews about Salon 54 and Joey, I decided to give it a try. He took my overly processed highlighted blonde hair and made it a shiny bright rich red. At first the contrast was too great for me but after some time I've gotten used to it (and also some of the color has faded and now it is a shiny reddish brown) and I love it. Joey was very personable and friendly and although he works at a fast pace, he answered all questions and concerns that I had and you don't feel rushed. I would definately go back.

I just want to say how absolutely happy I am with my new hair. I had the Japanese straightening done on my hair and I love it. Then, I went back and Joey performed another magic trick... colored and highlighted and I absolutely love it. I am one of those big chickens when it comes to making changes to my hair but Joey makes you feel comfortable with his subtle suggestions and you totally trust him because he is up-to-date with the latest greatest styles and ides, then wahlah... the new you!! He's fun to hang out with while getting your hair done at the same time. You go Joey!!

in my search for a new, hip hairdresser, i stumbled upon all of these rave reviews on joey so decided to trust them & give him a try. i was delighted to find that they were right! i get so many compliments on my cut & color and that hasn't happened in a while! what he did with my color was fantastic - i've been getting my hair highlighted for years and it had started looking like less than healthy, all blonde hair - not natural at all. joey "worked his magic" and it looks and feels SO good now! the cut is really cute too. the salon left a bit to be desired, but as i understand it, that's why he's opening a new salon on durant rd - i can't wait! i'll definitely go back.

I have long, curly hair, and Belinda blow-dryed it straight. I've had this done at many salons, and this was certainly among the best. Despite the fact that it was a really humid day, my hair turned out smooth and straight. It took slightly longer than usual, but the pleasant staff, excellent results, and competetive price more than compensated for this.

Joey Owens, owner of Salon 54, in my opinion, is the best kept secret in the triangle. I met Joey and experienced his artistry and skill, as a master and expert, in the use of thermalionic straightener. My hair is extremely unruly, coarse and hard to manage. My hair was a total disaster,looked like a "bush" with additional chemical damage, post receiving highlites, from another high profile, well known salon, in the triangle, covering a large area , at the mid-top of my head. After Mr. Owens completed the process, not only was my hair straightened, but appeared to be healthier and shiny, which it was not ,prior to receiving this service. To my happy amazement, the large area of chemical damage ,(which was frizzy and responded negatively, even with various products), vanished , and looked as healthy as the rest of my hair. I no longer dread "rainy" days.

My hair has been the bane of my existence for as long as I can remember. I wanted to do Thermal Reconditioning as a last resort, before I cut it short. My hair was curly, frizzy, and fattened up with any kind of humidity. I was a little skeptical that my results would be as great as Joey said they would be, but since I had this done, I cannot stop smiling. My hair is gorgeous and it feels great. It literally is the hair that I have always wanted. Joey explained everything he was going to do, was very accommodating during the process, and gave me exactly what was promised. Words really can't describe how happy I am with the results. I had looked into other salons, but I am sure that I made the right decision by going to Joey. Definitely worth every penny!! |

I recently got my hair thermally reconditioned at Salon 54. Although I love the way the straightening turned out, I am not too thrilled about the cut. However, I would recommend the thermal reconditioning. Joey was very nice and made the long process seem short. He also told me step by step what he was doing with my hair to make sure that I was comfortable. |

I came across Joey and his Salon on this web site and decided to make an appointment based on all the great reviews. I traveled from Virginia to Raleigh with great expectations of what Joey could do with my horrible double processed blond hair, and chopped up haircut. Well, it has been about two weeks since my visit with Joey and am pleased to say that he saved my hair! He was able to give me a beautiful "celebrity" blond, and latest haircut. I have gotten so many compliments on both the color and the style! The hour and a half trip to have Joey do my roots every couple of months is a definite!!!

I had had it done once before at another salon and paid a lot more, plus it didn't turn out as well as it did with Joey. I went to Joey at Salon 54 in search of a new stylist and I am extremely happy with the result! My past hair experiences have been finding someone who does good color but only a so-so cut or vice versa. However, Joey is a great find. He did an incredible job with my blond color and he had great ideas for my cut that fit into my preferences for length and style manageability. I have received so many compliments on my hair since I started going to him. I highly recommend Joey to anyone that wants great color AND cut/style. |

Last week I went to Joey for the first time to get a body wave done and I was extremely pleased with the results. I brought in a couple of pictures and Joey was able to give me exactly what I was looking for. I have received numerous compliments on my hair. Joey is just as good at curling hair as he is at straightening it. I will definitely go back.

What an experience! I walked in to get my hair straightened and walked out feeling like a new woman! Not only did he get my curly hair straight and shiny, but gave me a movie star haircut that is so cute! Joey is great and I have defintely found my new stylist. He is very personable and fun. He really knows his stuff and you just cant beat his prices. My mom went with me and ended up getting hers done too! Joey was so nice to fit her in and her hair looks great. I've been to Joey for several cuts and color, as well as thermal re-conditioning, and all have turned out great. The color Joey used was just right for me and although I was thinking more brown, Joey suggested changing my blonde to a great reddish brown. I've gotten nothing but compliments on both the cut and the color. My hair is also much more manageable after the thermal reconditioning. I hardly have to dry it at all, and then I use a flat iron on the top layer, and presto, shiny straight hair.

I just had my second thermal reconditioning treatment and I have been so pleased. My hair had always been frizzy and I almost never had pretty curls. I used to get teased about my white girl 'fro. Since doing this I have loved my hair. Joey is great. He is so knowlegable and personable. I couldn't imagine trusting my hair to anyone else. In fact, I drive two plus hours just to have him do my hair. |

I had the thermal hair straightening done with Joey. I was afraid of getting my hair damaged, but I love my hair now. I can actually keep it open, and it doesnt fall more than it normally does. Joey is very good, knows what hes doing, and works with you. I love my hair, and will keep getting it straightened. I also get my hair cut there, and after searching for a long time here in the triangle, I have finally found someone who knows what they are doing. I highly recommend Salon 54. |

Wow! I went to Joey for the first time with a head full of brassy blonde hair. I have fun with clothes but never really felt stylish with THAT HAIR! Joey is absolutely amazing with color. In just one visit he corrected the brassiness, covered my mousy brown roots and gave me an absolutely GORGEOUS shade of blonde hights & tone. After 10 years of highlights in other reputable salons and lots of money later, I finally have the blonde that fits me perfectly. I finally feel stylish! I love Joey!

Joey has an education and experience with hair coloring and straitening...He knows what he's doing! I had gone to the expensive places thinking if i spend alot of money...they'll get my hair the way i want it....sooo not true! you can spend alot thinking it will make a difference but it comes down to someone who really knows what he's doing...Joey! I'm not one to pick one salon and continously return...but i can't see myself going anywhere else. I got the japanese straitening and got exactly what i wanted and what I was told I would get. Also...his prices are extremely reasonable!

I went to Joey last week for thermal reconditioning. Not only did my hair come out looking great, what he promised would happen, did. I USED to have curly, frizz prone hair and now it is straight, out of the shower, out of the pool, and in 96 degree weather. I can barely remember how my hair looked before this treatment, and I'd rather not remember. Joey is excellent at what he does, and his is not overpriced at all. On top of all that, he was very funny, very personable, energetic and the 2 1/2 hours I spent in salon 54 felt like a half hour. If you are looking into this tretment, don't go elsewhere where they charge $100 an hour and take 4-6 hours, go to joey. He loves your business and he loves his job. Simple as that. |

I went with my best friend for the Thermal Reconditioning process, and Joey made it so entertaining. He was extremely knowledgeable about hair care and treatment. He had the best jokes and sense of humor. He is the exudence of public service; entertaining and providing a high quality 'product'; end result. I was very impressed. I would most certainly make an appointment for my hair cut, which I'm sure he would make trendy, and for color, knowing that he would envision a creative color scheme for my hair, with me. I really was impressed. I wish his business well, as well as him and his family.

Great salon. I had the thermal reconditioning (Japanese hair straightening) done at Salon 54. I am very impressed. I have had so many compliments since having this done. Joey is very knowledgeable and professional. I drove from Florence, S.C. to have this done and I can truthfully say it was well worth the drive. I will definitley be back. i was at first very skeptical, since i had a coupon and the location was unfimiliar to me, however, when i called i was reassured that the stylist doing my hair was fairly new, but a perfectionist and she took her time. that was an understatement.... i had highlites done by linda, and could not believe how she took her time to not only listen, but to do each and every individual foil. she even told me she would fix anything i didnt like and at the end made sure i was happy. shes so soft spoken, but with the quality of work she puts forth, she should be more than confident. overall i felt better walking out of that salon than others- and i have paid hundreds and even had my hair done in NYC- because i was so happy with my stylist, the price, EVERYTHING!

Joey Owens is probably the best hairdresser in all of North Carolina. He made my hair from godawful ugly to beautiful bouncing long hair. I don't know what I would do if I did not have Joey Owens to do my hair. He cuts, perms, colors, and puts in highlights. He also cuts my son's hair. I got Joey's name from a friend (who always had great hair), and have never been disappointed. I have been going to him for 3 years now and he's always done a fantastic job - w/ cuts, highlights, and color. I had tried a number of other high profile salons and was never very happy with the results. I have been going to Joey for the past 4 years and never had a bad experience. I tried the thermal reconditioning and man what a difference. I had thick curly hair with a mind of it's own, but afterwards it was straight, soft, and took half the time to dry! Why waste time blow drying your hair straight, just to have it frizz up in the humidity... Each time I have it done again, my hair feels better and is less prone to tangles. I love it and highly recommend it!
